Bringing their brand of camaraderie on the Japan Filipino Community, the Philippine Digest Readers Club members and officers have taken their oath of office last January 29, 2012 at the Ihawan Restaurant at Kabukicho, Shinjuku.
Philippines’ Labor Attache for Japan Clifford Paragua administered the oath for the event, and in turn became the guest speaker for the affair.
The officers are composed of Chairperson Marichu Ihara, Vice-Chairperson Sherie Kitamura, Secretary Myla Tsutaichi, Treasurer Cherry Hidaki, Assistant Treasurer Edith Yamada, and Public Relations Officer Renee Gay Rellorosa.
Among the VIP attendees lead by Mr. Paragua is Ms. Liwayway Ilo, the new Welfare Officer of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office; from PNB Tokyo, Deputy Managing Director Julie F. Cruz and Mary Jane Okamoto; Ms. Anna Rivera of the Philippine Consulate Tokyo; Michitomo Eguchi of NuSkin; and Abby Watabe of Karaoke Kan.
During her inaugural speech, Marichu Ihara introduced their upcoming program, Search for Modelong Filipina 2012.
It is the first major undertaking by the group since they got together last year.
LabAtt Paragua congrulated the new set of officers and wished them well in their upcoming programs and projects. He also expressed that the POLO is their partner in their objectives.
The group got together in small coffee shop talks since last
year, and with their common inclination for the Philippine Digest Magazine, they soon formed their aims and eventually formed their group. (PhD)
